Unawakening is a bit of a theme album. It is a story of a transformation and falling into somekind of coma.

Musically:
End of Ages is a perfect starter for an album, since it really kicks in after 5 minutes of very mellow themes. This song has a riffing rock-interlude alongside with the epic chorus and heavy riffing. Lyrical theme is pretty simple: How mankind will eventually be heading towards destruction by it's own hand. This song is composed by Markus.

Cosmic Key is a heavy song without any clean vocals. The progressive structure means that only a couple of the riffs are played more than once. This song ends with a brilliant double guitar riffing that would make any NWOBHM band impressed. The lyrics are a kind of summary on what dreams can do and what one can learn through dreams. This song is composed by Markus and Rolle.

Expression is a song that has everything: Heavy parts, light parts, slow parts, fast parts. This song is a good example on what Astral Sleep is, and lyrically it tells a little something about our appearance. This song is composed by Jaakko, Markus and Rolle.

Distant Dreams is a song that would make us rich, if it had a chorus. Instead, it has very beautiful guitar melodies and peaceful atmosphere. Lyrically it is mostly about suicide. And yes, there is a slight blink on our eye on this one. This song is composed by Markus.

Away from the World is a bit of a summary for everything. Musically it consists on crushing start, flowing middle and very massive and epic ending. Lyrically this one is an in-depth guide on dreaming. This song is composed by Markus.

Nearly all songs include an intro and an outro, binding all the pieces together into one massive entity.
